Padmashree Pandit D. K. Datar – A Legend was my Father – In – Law. I was always in the influence of his Fame and Personality since I entered the Family. But after his sad demise, I penned down the Article in Maharashtra Times Newspaper about him. This Article touched many and his followers and readers wanted to know more about him and the journey of the book began. On his first Death Anniversary, I dedicated to him the Biography written by me in Marathi – D.K. Datar – The Violin Sings. This book was published by renowned Granthali
publications in Maharashtra. Music maestros Padmavibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Padmavibhushan Pt. Jasraj Ji, Padmashree Pt Suresh Talvalkar, Hon. ex-Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri. Ram Naik ji wrote the blurb for this book. This Biography stole the heart of readers. The Second edition of this book was published within six months. The Biography Gata Rahe Violin, was translated into Hindi by Dr. Smita Date and it was published by R.K. Publications.

Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagatsing Koshyari ji in Raj Bhavan, Mumbai. I am very proud to say that this book is studied by PHD students as a reference guide of Hindustani classical music played on Violin in Gayaki style.
